Sahel Nadhif — twelve months of coastal restoration

Sahel Nadhif is not a clean-up campaign. Picking up litter for a morning changes a photograph, not a coastline.

So the project runs for twelve months on the same three sites, weighs and categorises everything collected, and publishes the figures each quarter. Where the same waste keeps arriving, we go upstream and deal with the source — which in two cases meant a conversation with a business rather than another Saturday with bin bags.

Dune replanting began in month four with marram grass grown by a nursery in Menzel Jemil.
